Nadia Rodriguez is a Mexican-American pianist and violinist located in Chula Vista, California. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from San Diego State University. She also earned a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder, under the tutelage of Dr. Alejandro Cremaschi and Dr. Jennifer Hayghe.
Throughout her musical career, Nadia has performed and collaborated in a variety of festivals and competitions, including the Junior Bach Festival, Mozart Festival, the MTAC Certificate of Merit Annual Convention Music Festival, Starling DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at the Juilliard School, and Interharmony International Music Festival in Acqui Terme, Italy.
As an educator, Nadia blends her performance background with a strong pedagogical foundation, aiming to instill music as a meaningful and lasting part of her students’ lives. She has taught at the Youth Piano Program (YPP) at the University of Colorado Boulder, Parlando School of Musical Arts, Southwestern College’s Y.E.S. Academy, Villa Musica, and La Jolla Country Day School.
Alongside her teaching, Nadia is an active researcher in piano pedagogy. In 2023, she presented her research on "Dyslexia and Music Reading: Research and Effective Strategies" at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) National Conference in Reno, Nevada. In 2024, she returned to the MTNA National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, presenting alongside the University of Colorado Boulder’s MTNA Collegiate Chapter on "Making a Music Major." Her research has also been published in the September 2023 issue of MTNA’s e-Journal ("Dyslexia and Music Reading"), Alfred Music’s blog ("Effective Teaching Strategies for Music Students with Dyslexia") and California Music Teachers’ Spring 2026 Magazine (“Teaching Strategies for Dyslexia and Music”).
Nadia’s future plans are to pursue doctoral study, continuing her work as a performing artist, piano pedagogue, and researcher.
